There has been an unfortunate dearth of fuzzy creatures at Flights of Fancy of late, but I aim to change that. It’s Monday, and if anyone is feeling as blah, crabby, and stressed as I am (or heartsoreΒ from yesterday’s football losses — my poor 49ers!), you need a bit of a pick-me-up.
That’s where the precious sloth-in-a-box comes in: 1 minutes and 17 seconds of unbelievable cuteness. How can your heart not melt like butter at the sight of its round, blinking eyes or its smiling eyes? The adult sloth pictured below is adorable, but there’s something about the baby that is even harder to ignore.
On this rainy Monday morning, I feel a bit of kinship with the little creature, beset with a case of the sleepies as it tries to crawl out of its little box. There are so many things to accomplish on my to-do list… but — yawn — my bed is looking mighty inviting…
Happy Monday, all!

That is my teenagers in the morning!! Especially the part where the sloth goes back to sleep π So funny, thanks for sharing Lena.

I gotta admit, that’s pretty darn cute! I feel your pain…I wanted the Ravens to win! (but knew they wouldn’t)

Bah, and I don’t even pay attention to football on a regular basis! But it’s been 9 years since the 49ers made the playoffs, and I thought just maybe they’d make it… But it’s okay, because we have cute animal clips to soothe our pain! π

So cute. Okay, that was me this morning, too. My husband finally had to drag me out of bed, kicking and screaming. Of course, now that I’m up, I’m glad because it’s a sunny, beautiful, spring-like day in my neck of the woods. π

Ohhh, sun and spring-like weather will get me out of bed any day. Between the rain, wind, and my utter lack of sleep, I definitely opted for the sloth-route on Monday. π

I have a better appreciation for the word “sloth” after seeing that video, Lena. The little guy’s cute, but those claws repel me.
January 26, 2012 at 10:42 am
You know, I really do think that sloths get a bad name. Sure, they’re slow and sometimes they seem a little lazy, but in reality, I think it’s just because they know how to chill out and relax. However, you are right – those claws are nothing to play with.
Thanks for stopping by, Pat!

Oh, man. I’m in LOVE! Thanks for sharing this, Lena. Totally brightened my afternoon. π

Oh my. It’s late afternoon here and I think I need to stretch . . . this recliner . . . out.

Thank you for changing up the animal video. That was so much cuter than any dog or cat could be!

Agreed! There are some awesome owl videos I’ve been dying to share as well. Dogs and cats are precious, but there are definitely a ton of other animals that rock the cuteness factor as well.

Oh, so cute–although I agree with Coleen, that does look like my kids in the morning.
Thanks for sharing the clips–baby animals always make Mondays better!

It’s so funny – I am well out of my teen years, and this is STILL me every morning. “Must… get up… zonk” π

Omg, if sloths weren’t illegal in the state of California, I would totally save up my pennies and buy one. Cutest. Animals. Ever.

OMG ADORABLE!!! I’ve never seen one before and I’m head over heels in love!! I want one!! Just total cuteness!

Yes, I know! I can’t adopt one since they’re illegal in California, but I may have to jet off to Costa Rica and volunteer at the sloth preserve. Soooooo much cuteness, I can hardly handle it.
January 24, 2012 at 10:12 am
Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh, that made my heart all goopy and swoony. So adorable π
January 26, 2012 at 11:01 am
Isn’t it absolutely ridiculous? I want to pick it up and cuddle it and nevereverever let it go. π
January 24, 2012 at 10:53 am
Yeah, that was way too cute for words. I’m with slothy, let’s all just go back to bed.

I love animals and I loved this video. I sometimes wonder about the fate of animals who suffer in the cold weather. There was a dog near our house and kept crying during winters as the winters get too cold. We all gathered funds for it and built a small house like thing for it and also gave him a small blanket π
